Saltway Quilters are celebrating their ‘Pearl’ Anniversary!
Like-minded women and a member of the Embroiderers’ Guild founded ‘Saltway Quilters’ in 1985. Starting with only 7 members it has over the years expanded to more than 30.
To commemorate this milestone the quilting members are busily creating a ‘Friendship Quilt’ which will be raffled at their Exhibition to be held at Chawson Barn, Community Hall, DROITWICH on Friday, 18th and Saturday 19th September 2015.
Saltway Quilters have a wide range of abilities; from novices to those who have teaching qualifications. Many past and current members have exhibited quilts in regional and national exhibitions and have won a variety of awards.
On Wednesday, 24th June 2015, members will be celebrating their Pearl anniversary at their meeting place, in the Community Hall, Heritage Way, DROITWICH. Any past members are invited to join their reunion where a summer buffet and entertainment will be enjoyed.
Saltway Quilters meet every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm.
Fiona DAVIES (Chair) says “We are a friendly group of ladies with a wide range of knowledge, ability and talent. We would welcome anyone who may be interested in starting to learn the basics of quilting and / or to learn new quilting techniques to come and join us on Wednesday, 12th August 2015 @ 7:30pm, when ‘Back to Basics’ sessions will be introduced”.
Saltway Quilters offer:
• 'Sit and Sew' sessions
• 'Speakers (Regional and National)'
• ‘Workshops' and ‘Do Your Own Thing’ days
• of course there is always a mandatory cup of tea or coffee on offer … and a cake or two...
